Spiritual Wooden Bracelets

Sometime ago, I purchased several of these wooden bracelet like things; not knowing what I was going to do with them. (They're small, not large enough to be a bracelet, odd shape for a bookmark! Hmm.) But I loved and bought them anyway!

I bought these in different natural shades

For the last few days, I've been making beaded bracelets, and I glanced at my little pile of ? and had an "ahhha" moment! "What if I take them apart"! Well, today I transformed my "bracelet like things" into bracelets. And to be even more happier with my design, someone else liked them enough to purchase! Yipee! Below "are a few photos:

L.A. County Arboretum & Botanic Garden

I had the honor of attending my nephew's wedding and reception at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Gardens (I'll share photos from the wedding soon!).

The reception, immediately following, was held on the grounds at the Peacock Cafe. Rightfully named because there were beautiful peacocks everywhere! Below "are a few photos:

Arboretum summer night concerts are the second Thurday in the month of August and September

Artist Charles Dickson is one of 130 artists and artisans who were invited to create sculpures, funiture and other pieces out of wood salvaged from the 235 trees downed by last December's windstorm.

Christian Louboutin Spiked Suede Slip-ons

I love these shoes!

Chad Ochocinco wore Christian Louboutin custom made slip-on loafers for his wedding.

This season, designers are using spikes as a design feature on jackets, collars and sleeves, etc., for sure on shoes and on fashion accessories - headbands, jewerly and purses.

Target and Neiman Marcus are teaming up for an unprecedented retail adventure. Twenty four CFDA designers will create a 50 piece limited edition Holiday collection. "The Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection" prices will start at $7.99 and top out at $499.00. There will be men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories, life style items and home goods. The collections will be available in both retail stores by December 1st. Yeaa!

Revamping an Old Chandelier

"Working What You Got"!

If your tired of your old-school chandelier, but your budget doesn't include the cost for a new one, here is a DIY project to bring new life to your light fixture!

Below "are a few photos":

These glass shades were removed from the gold finished chandelier

The electrical components and the center
glass feature of the chandelier were taped before sanding.

After sanding the fixture, it was sprayed with
Rust-Oleum hammered brown paint & primer

Let the fixture was completely dry.

Crystals were hung from the fixture and rhinestone
trim was added around each light and the center
plate. The blue tape is holding the rhinestones
until they dry.
