Easy DIY 85th Birthday Decorations

We had my Dad's and his twin Brother's 85th Birthday Party at my home.  We kept it casual and simple.  Family members prepared the food and friends brought deserts and drinks.  Everything was soooo delicious!

I brought several mismatched wine glasses from GoodWill.  Cleaned and shined them up.  I overheard several compliments.  FYI: it's a good way for guests to keep up with their glasses; and nothing enhances the taste of wine better than a wine glass.  Below are two photos:

For party favors, my daughter, Ms. E., took photographs of our guest with my Dad and his twin brother, Uncle Charles.  According to Ms. E., it's a simple task:  you need a wireless printer and photo paper, phone or camera.  Everyone enjoyed the photo ops with the men of the hour and enjoyed, even more, being able to take pictures home!

My daughter, Ms. J.'s decorations, were fabulous, as usual.  The birthday party colors were dark blue and light blue.  J purchased 25 silver and blue mylar balloons from Dollar Tree.  Reusing her mason jars from another project, she tied plastic bags filled with water to anchor the balloon bouquets to the inside of the jars, and wrapped the water bags with silver metallic wrapping paper. My sister, Ms. C., painted an "8 & 5" and we placed it over the food table with a happy birthday banner and a bouquet of balloons.  Below are a few photos:

We had 3 drink stations and 4 food tables/stations, to keep our 40 + guests comfortable and moving.
