Easy, DIY Circle Necklace

This is a simple "make and take" project I designed for my sewing arts and crafts class tomorrow.  To make this necklace you'll need:

*1 circle bead - *leather tie - *2 beads

cut your leather tie 46"

fold your leather tie in half, thread the loop end thru the bead

make a knot on each ties, 1" from the circle bead

tie the end of the leather ties together, add a spot of glue!

Your circle bead can be any size or weight.  Cut the leather ties the length you desire.

I hope you enjoy making this simple and easy necklace!

Have a great weekend; and remember to be kind.

LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN CENTER PIECE

For my Halloween party tomorrow evening, I made a last minute table center piece.  I used 3 different sizes mason jars.  On one I tied black lace around and made a bow, on the other two I made different size bands and pinned them with a concealed straight pin, placed a tea light inside and...  tada!!!

Enjoy!!

DIY Silverware Caddy

This cute, and super easy to make, silverware caddy is made from wired burlap ribbon.  Using pinking shears, cut an 8" piece of ribbon - fold in half and hot glue the edges.

Below are "a few photos":

These burlap silverware caddy's can be made for almost any occasion - simply by changing the color of the wired burlap ribbon and/or the sheer or satin ribbon ties - bridal showers, birthdays, retirement parties, etc.

Enjoy!

Mix Media Art

Most of my mix media art pieces include recycled paper, stitching, fabric and water color.  These pieces were inspired by a brooch of a colorful house a friend was wearing.  Each piece finishes at 5" X 7".   Below are "a few photos":

I call these pieces "around the way".  The metal objects in the pieces are sewing notions.  I hope they inspire you to create art for your space using recycled, materials.
