Twin canopies!

This canopy is awesome!
The picture frame hung with ribbon/fabric is
an idea I love and I've used many times!

"Happy Hour Crafting"!!

It was a dream come true, and an awesome feeling to host my first "Happy Hour Crafting" Party.  And to see everyone get into the crafts and enjoy themselves.

I've had the idea to host a craft party for at least a year and a half.  The premise was, instead of going to a club or bar for happy hour, women could get together after work for drinks, food, socializing, creating and unwinding.

I set up two craft stations: one for pouchettes, (French for pouch) - the most famous pouchette is by Louis Vuitton- and another station was set up to make bling, bling beaded bracelets!  My good friend and certified bartender/model, Robin Maiden, kept the party flowing with her boutique cocktails!  Our menu included water, soft drinks, pasta salad, celery, carrots, bell pepper cups, olives, cheese & crackers, cookies, and brownies.  The brownies were a big hit!

Everyone was asking when's the next Happy Hour Crafting Party!

Below "are a few photos":

Successful evening!  We had a lot of fun!  The next HHC party is Friday, February 22, 2013.

Have a great weekend and remember to be kind!

Cirque du Soleil - "IRIS" /Dolby Theater, Hollywood, CA

I had the fortune of being gifted  a ticket to see Iris (pronounced ee-rees) at the Dolby Theater, (formally Kodak Theater), in Hollywood.  The show was a whimsical homage to cimena.  I loved the costumes, the live action with projected image, the dancers, contortionists, aerialists , acrobats and the animatronic camera-like creatures, (my favorites).

The 200 awe-inspiring costumes by Philippe Guillote for the production were fantastic!   Besides the animatronic camera-like creatures being my favorite, the proxinoscope costume was my mostest favorite!  Below are "a few photos":

Lights were flickering as the skirt was revolving around the  charachter!
You had to be here.  Amazing!

These photos are self explanitory of the twin brothers

The costumes were fantastic, however, the show was missing something... cohesion maybe?
But, on a positive note, there is nothing like the creative energy of a live stage performance!  And I enjoyed every minute of it!!  Thank you Ms. D. for the ticket!  Best wishes to the cast and crew.
