You already know I'm a fan of Kenye West's creative genius.  For fall 2015, he teamed up with Adidas and designed his much anticipated shoe line "Yeezi".  Below are "a few photos":

Decorating Tiny/Small Balconies

I love the idea of creating exceptional tiny/small outdoor spaces.  A plant, seating (bench or chair), small outdoor rug and a candle = retreat.  Use your small space anyway that makes you happy whether it's a potted garden, outdoor grilling, or a mini gym.  If needed, you can had privacy to your balcony with hanging shades, tall plants, or by weaving canvas like materials through metal railings.  The view your balcony from the inside of your home should put a smile on your face.

Young Man's Prom Party Desert Table

Joi at "Joi'ous Affairs Party Rentals and More" created this blue and white desert table for a high school prom party sendoff.  

Two different size boxes covered with blue and white stripe wrapping paper were used to create the tiered cupcake holder.  Handmade bubblegum necklaces, a few blue and white suckers and a couple trays of bite size cheese cake was just enough for his small group of family and friend well wishers to enjoy.

2015 Los Angeles Natural Hair & Lifestyle Expo

This is my third year working with the "Natural Hair and Lifestyle Expo".  I'm heading up the design/art volunteers and together we are creating the branding, stage decorating, murals and signage for the event. 

I'm also creating a "Nappywood Pop Up Shop" that will retail tee shirts I designed for the event, in addition to, my fashions, artwork, quilts, pillows and throws.   

The show is energy charged, educational and inspirational!

Decorating a Small Bathroom

I enjoyed helping my Mom decorate her small bathroom.

Inspiration bathroom

After 40 years in the same home, my Mother's bathroom was not going to change it's size.  Unfortunately, I don't have any before pictures.  But, I started by decluttering the bathroom.  It had way too much stuff for such a small space.  

What I love about the inspiration room is the shelving on the walls.  It brings your eyes up creating the illusion of more space.   My Mom found her picture at Big Lots for $8.00 and the curtain rod for $3.00.   I showed her how to make the curtains (from a earlier post) the fabric and ribbon cost about $7.00,  she purchased the shelves from Target Home for $19.00.  It didn't cost much to give her bathroom a fresh and updated look.  Below are "a few photos":

"Easy Like Sunday Morning"

So... Sunday morning I decided to not go to church and went to Santa Monica  beach instead.  I did listen to the church sermons on the radio.  I've been wanting to go to the beach for weeks/months now.  7:00 AM Sunday morning and the streets are clear of traffic.  The streets are so clear of traffic I decided to take the streets to the beach.  

Parking was free at the Santa Monica Mall, yea!  I always walk the 3rd Street Promenade (before heading to the sand).  I love window shopping at all the stores on the promenade.  Santa Monica was overcast but still a cool place to be.  Below "are a few" photos:

I left the beach and headed to Pasadena, thinking I could cut thru Brentwood.  Two attempts later, I still ended up on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.  Stopping at a gas station for directions: go back 3/4 mile to Malibu Canyon Road, make a left.  It's a winding, turning road through the caynon.  Thank goodness for me, it was Sunday morning and only a few cars were on the road.  I only had to pull over once to let faster traffic go ahead. 

I was really surprised to end up in the beautiful Malibu Mountains.  I've lived in Los Angeles for a very long time, always heard of the park with it's creek and waterfall, but never visited.  Below "are a few" photos:

Malibu Canyon Road ended in the city of Calabasas.  I ate my packed breakfast/lunch in the McDonalds parking lot and hopped onto the 101 freeway south to Pasadena!
