Textile Wall Hangings

Wall hangings have been around for centuries.   They were popular because they could easily be hung, taken down, rolled up and moved to a different location.  Textile wall hangings were draped on walls for insulation during winter and for decorative display.  Wall hangings could contain important information, announcements or a family's history.

DIY Artwork

Ms. E. and Mr. M. created another amazing DIY project!

With fabric purchased from IKEA for approximately $7.99 a yard, they covered "dated artwork" to give their living room a fresh and modern feel.  Below "are a few photos":

DIY Bedroom

My daughter Ms. E, and her husband Mr. M. and I were in Santa Barbara, CA, a couple of years ago.  Ms. E. fell in love with this bedroom display at The Pottery Barn.

Mr. M. used stain to transform their blonde, solid wood furniture, into the black, four post bed in the inspiration picture.

E. and M. did a fantastic job!  Below are "a few photos" of their finished project:

This was the first quilt I made, 13 yrs. ago!

M.'s stain job looks very professional 

I love the way their bedroom came out.  I especially like the chandelier with the fabric covered chain and Ms. E.'s two bedding options.  

It's Spring!  Time for cleaning and redecorating!
